The past year of media (AS) has taught me a lot, I am now
quite confident in the area although it has took a lot of time and work. At
first I struggled to keep up with the terminology but the lecturer Emma gave us
all sheets with all the words on we needed to learn which helped a lot. I
really enjoyed making the music magazine and doing all the photo-shoots with my
friends, it was hard to find people who were confident enough to pose for the
pictures but I got there in the end.
Research and planning was very good, I enjoyed the work
because it was interesting and we got a lot of choice on what we wanted to do,
which I think made me a lot more interested in the work. The work wasn’t easy
and you had to put a lot of personal time into the work but it wasn’t boring
and Emma gave us all the details and deadlines that we had to complete and
meet.
Working with a deadline that Emma gave us helped me a lot
because then I could fit the extra work around my own timetable of being at
work and my social life and other college work. I also had to create a
timetable of when I was going to post posts onto my blogger account which
helped me a lot because I could decide when to do the work and Emma didn’t mind
what time of the day the posts had to be posted. Blogger has a option where you
can put a ‘schedule’ on when the post will be posted, this means that I could
complete the work and if its early you can edit the time so that it posts later
when you aren’t on blogger.
The exam for media and revising for it was the hardest
aspect in my eyes, there was two different sections to the exam and I
understood the first one great, which was TV drama because I enjoyed it but the
second section was film, it took a lot of work to understand this work, I even
had to stay behind for extra lessons.
Below are the finished pages of my music magazine.
